Alert Follow Up - FedEx Shooting

On April 15th 2021, the Virginia Fusion Center issued an alert for an active shooter incident at a Fedex facility in Indianapolis Indiana. The below product, produced in collaboration with Hanover County Shield, serves as an alert follow up giving further details on the incident.

8 Die In Shooting At FedEx Ground Facility

Date of Incident - April 15th 2021

Attack Overview

At approximately 11:00pm on April 15th 2021 a man opened fire at the FedEx Ground facility just outside Indianapolis main airport killing 8 people.

According to law enforcement, the suspect exited his car in the parking lot and started shooting and continued as he entered the building. The gunman was killed from a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly before police arrived.

The shooting occurred during a shift change at the FedEx plant, and many workers were either just arriving to the facility or outside on break when the shooting began in the parking lot.

Suspect

The suspect has been identified as 19 year-old Brandon Hole from Indianapolis who was previously known to the FBI. Hole was a former employee of the facility and last worked for the company in 2020.
