Prevention Forum: Cities As Partners In Prevention
What role do cities play in preventing acts of targeted violence and terrorism?
DHS's Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships, the Strong Cities Network and the National League of Cities are hosting a Prevention Forum, Thursday 7/11/2024, from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT to discuss this very important topic.
Two years after the Highland Park attack on July 4, 2022, cities are at the forefront of building programming and resilience to prevent targeted violence and terrorism. With proximity to local communities, cities have unique insights into needs, concerns, and priorities. Mayors, city council members, and local governments can leverage partnerships with local communities, communicate the threat landscape to citizens, and help ensure that the city has the resources it needs to prevent targeted violence and terrorism before an act can occur.
Wide distribution is encouraged! Please forward to your colleagues and stakeholders.
