FBI Releases Statement Highlighting International and Domestic Terrorism Threats
On 4 August, the FBI Director presented a statement for the record focused on top national security threats, including the evolving international and domestic terrorism threats, to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Report on “Examining Online Migration to Terrorist and Violent Extremist-Owned (TVE) Domains”
In July 2022, Tech Against Terrorism released a study analyzing the use of TVE-operated websites and platforms on the Domain Name System (DNS) as part of terrorists’ multiplatform approach to exploit the Internet. Since the introduction of the first generation of the Internet, TVE actors have used online spaces to spread propaganda content, recruit new members, and communicate internally. The study identifies terrorists’ four main uses of online platforms—categorized in terms of beacons, content stores, aggregators, and circumventors.
