The New DHS National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin: A Conversation with John Cohen
This week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released its National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS) Bulletin to the public. The NTAS Bulletin provides a quarterly summary of evolving terrorism threats to the U.S. homeland. The latest Bulletin highlights the convergence of several key factors that have increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the heightened threat environment today.
On Tuesday, February 15th at 10 am EST, the Program on Extremism at George Washington University will host an online panel featuring John Cohen, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Undersecretary of Intelligence and Analysis at DHS. Mr. Cohen will discuss the new NTAS Bulletin in detail, including the threat environment as he sees it today, key takeaways, and what DHS is doing to respond. He will be joined by Seamus Hughes, Deputy Director of the Program on Extremism, for a moderated panel following his remarks.
