Comprehensive Resources To Prevent Vehicle Ramming Attacks
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has developed a comprehensive suite of resources designed to prevent and mitigate vehicle-borne attacks. The guides provide a framework of strategies, including risk assessments, emergency operations planning, and crowd management, to enhance security against such threats. They emphasize the importance of tailoring mitigation strategies to the specific needs and constraints of different locations, ensuring a balance between security and operational functionality. The materials provide detailed guidance on physical security measures and proactive strategies to protect crowded spaces and critical infrastructure.
The House Homeland Security Committee released an updated version of its Terror Threat Snapshot Assessment highlighting threats posed by homegrown extremists inspired by foreign jihadist networks like ISIS in America and around the world.
The report details more than 50 jihadist cases across 30 states between April 2021 and January 2025, including "dozens of attempts to provide material support to ISIS," "providing material support to Hizballah and al Qaeda," "receiving military-type training from ISIS and Hizballah" and "vehicle ramming attacks."
