In late 2023 and early 2024, there were multiple swatting incidents specifically targeting election workers. The attached guidance document, developed by CISA in collaboration with the FBI, provides an overview of swatting and recommended practices for preventing and responding to swatting incidents for both election workers as well as law enforcement in order to protect personnel and ensure the integrity of the election.
