Between January and June 2021, 37 law enforcement officers (LEOs) were feloniously killed in the line-of-duty in the United States, which is a 32.1 percent increase compared to the 28 LEO deaths within the same timeframe during 2020. Firearms were the most common weapon used, resulting in 29 of the LEO deaths, which is consistent with reporting in previous years. |
