NTER Leverages Partnerships To Create Violence Prevention Resources

Recognizing the risk factors of targeted violence and terrorism is crucial to preventing violence in your community. To contribute to the education and understanding of the progression of violence, DHS I&A’s National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program Office has utilized its partnerships and platforms to provide practical, up-to-date prevention resources. New resources include targeted violence case studies, a basic threat evaluation and reporting training course, and quarterly webinars.

Xylazine Awareness For First Responders

The White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy has declared xylazine as an “emerging threat to the United States” due to the higher risk of fatal drug poisoning. Xylazine has been described as making the deadliest drug threat to our country (fentanyl) even more deadly, according to U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Anne Milgram.

Overcoming Language Barriers In Policing And Building An Effective Language Access Program

Language barriers can impact officer safety, public safety, and the integrity of an investigation and prosecution. The DOJ’s Law Enforcement Language Access Initiative (LELAI) has developed resources and tools that can assist local and state law enforcement agencies in their efforts to provide meaningful language access to individuals with limited English proficiency within their jurisdiction.
